Unlike hitting the Alpine Slopes; this Black Diamond will not take you anywhere near screaming down a mountain, but rather, this Black Diamond will lull you into a big cozy hug, as you settle in to enjoy the rest of your session or slumber.

A very calming and subtle herbal flavour, familiar yet so subtle, the flavour at times is almost fleeting. You want to almost put your finger on the name and then it’s gone, but not before leaving you with a good comfortable feeling of; “yeah, I have been here before…what’s on TV?”.

I really wanted to put a name to this “sensation” of familiarity, yet all I wrote down was; “Escapingly Familiar”.

What does that even mean?

One of the reasons this strain has made its way to the top of my list; sleep. I sleep the best when I have had an evening vape session with Black Diamond. My body just seems to find “its happy place”, the aches and pains disappear and when my head hits the pillow, good night.

No crazy dreams. No waking up every 2 hours. Just sleep.

Caryophyllene, the terpene described below, is the big headliner with Black Diamond. A lot of those symptoms are on my “check list”.

Caryophyllene is a unique terpene that acts also as a cannabinoid, which is a lot more science than we can get into here. However, what this means is that caryophyllene can trigger our body’s natural anti-inflammatory responses.

If you like crazy facts; a study with mice in 2014, showed that caryophyllene reduced voluntary alcohol intake.

I found that Black Diamond was a great companion in the evenings. I would load up my Arizer Tower and “sip” while letting myself get engrossed in some old murder mystery on “insert name of any streaming service here” and I was set.

I think, for myself, the only thing missing was a cuddle buddy.

CARYOPHYLLENE

EVAPORATION POINT: 130C

This is the component that is often responsible for the funky spicy musky scent often associated with marijuana. The terpene Caryophyllene is found in many essential oils, as it brings a clove like fragrance; yet one would probably say that when it comes to marijuana, Caryophyllene brings more of a funky diesel greasy like smell.

Caryophyllene has shown to be helpful with stress, anxiety and pain. Folks, who have a previous injury, often find this helpful with the left over aches and pains. Further studies have also shown anti-inflammatory properties with Caryophyllene, which is also helpful for those seeking joint-pain relief.

Speaking of "anti", Caryophyllene also presents with anti-oxidant properties.

PINENE

EVAPORATION POINT: 156C

Another scent thought to contribute to an energizing and reinvigorating effect. Evaporating PINENE makes a lot of sense for those that use cannabis during the day and are wanting to remain alert; as it has been shown to battle the short term memory loss "short-falls" that are often associated with THC.

Yes it does smell like pine trees, but also you may catch hints that remind you of rosemary, basil, parsley, green fresh herbal scents as well as perhaps that bite that a citrus rind has.

Pinene has been known to help with pain and is favoured among folks dealing with; arthritis, Chrohn's disease, cancer and cancer treatments.

MYRCENE

EVAPORATION POINT: 167C

The most abundant terpene compound found in cannabis. The aroma from Myrcene is very earth, musky tangy clove like flavours all the way to fruity grape like aromas. Myrcene is definitely a sedative, yet is also very good at helping those that experience inflammation and chronic pain.

Products and compounds that contain Myrcene are often recommended for Cancer patients. If you wish to try and achieve a stronger high, consumer a mango approximately 45-60 minutes before you partake in a strain with Myrcene, which is also naturally found in mangoes.
