JOHN SIEVERS NATURAL POUCH LOW RISE BRIEF
If you love the free feeling of boxers, but hate all the extra fabric OR you’re a fan of anatomical underwear in general, you absolutely must try a pair of these. You will not be disappointed.
I know, every review you read claims “these make it feel like I’m not wearing anything”, but I’m not just any reviewer. Look back at some of my previous reviews and you’ll see I don’t love just anything that rubs up against my privates.
So let me explain to you why these are different. All of this brand’s styles are made with what they call their “Natural Pouch”.
So whether you choose Low Rise Briefs, the Freestyler (a trunk/full rise brief hybrid) or Boxer Briefs, they all have the same pouch.
It is a deep pouch that has a soft bit of elastic at the back, making sure you stay in the pouch and nowhere else. These not only feel great in the front, but they’re fantastic all over.
The Low Rise Briefs I buy fully cover your back side, but again they use the soft elastic so you don’t even feel it around your legs.
The waistband is 1.5 inches wide, with what I like to call a “peach fuzz” backing on it which is as soft as it sounds.
The sides are cut nice and high, the waist is nice and low, so you don’t have a lot of fabric bunching up in your jeans.
The fabric is 90% Modal, 10% Lycra for a very slinky, soft, luxurious feel. So when I say these feel like you’re wearing nothing, you can rest assured you’ll be feeling commando.
On top of their comfort, they come in just about every color imaginable. They are all in solid colors – unfortunately, no stripes, patterns or color blocking. A few styles have some piping detail on them, but nothing too fancy.
They are great for every day wear or get the Low Rise Brief in solid black to wear on date night for an elegant, sexy look.
The majority of the briefs (the entire brand, actually) are a Modal/Lycra blend (either 95/5 or 90/10), but they also have several in a 95% Cotton, 5% Lycra blend and a few in the “Sleek” line that are 88% Polyamide, 12% Lycra.
I tend to stick with the natural fibers, so I have not tried the Poly/Lycra blend. The majority I own are Modal and I can’t stress enough how much I love them.
These absolutely run true to size. As I am between sizes, I upsize to a Large (36-38) for my 34-36 waist and muscular bubble butt. But because of the roominess of the pouch, I could probably get away with a Medium (32-34) if I were looking for a tighter fit, as the waist on the Large is a little on the loose side.
These are available exclusively at International Jock because John Sievers is not only the designer, but the owner of International Jock. One slight downside; these are on the higher end of the price scale, ranging from $23 to $29 USD at this writing.
However, if you sign up for the International Jock newsletter, they do run sales where you can save 20% to 30% and you should stock up then. They’re more of an investment brand of underwear, but well worth every penny!
