As I mentioned there were 3 strong reasons why I got myself these boxer briefs. There is a 4th that I haven’t mentioned yet, this might be quite important for those of your that do follow my reviews and know that I have strong feelings about underwear that is more than a brief.
I am on record as not being a fan of trunks and boxer briefs, the reason being the way my thighs are thick, I have legs more akin to a sprinter’s build rather than a long distance runner, the fabric of trunks and boxer briefs would bunch up on my leg and chafe in my crotch. Not fun.
Since these are much longer, down to the knee, they stay there, do not bunch up and provide a super comfortable and slick experience.
This garment is built with 2 purposes in mind. Firstly, they are a super great pair of underwear. What gets me going is feeling how my jeans or trousers slip and slide around against the fabric. These would be really awesome for anyone that has to wear wool trousers that are not lined!
Secondly, and for a lot of the same reasons, these are a great sports wear garment because, while I would not call them a compression short, they do offer you full coverage and support to avoid chafing, plus flat seams so you won’t feel anything rubbing. The moisture wicking of these is exceptional! Furthermore, I would not say that these would replace a proper jockstrap and the support one would get from one.
Thirdly, these are just super comfortable to wear, not just during the day but lounging around the house as well. I was feeling under the weather and it was really gross outside, I threw on my favourite beat up old tshirt, these boxers, grabbed my Kindle and my cozy throw blanket and read all afternoon and felt amazing.
Come summer time, I will for sure just be wearing these as shorts. Take a look at UrbanGuyTO as he snapped a selfie when he was on his way over to the studio to record one of our podcasts. (Did you know we did a podcast? If you didn’t come over and check out THE VOICE OF TURNIPSTYLE)
