We have read that NBC News is reporting that the Men’s Swim & Dive teams at Princeton University have been suspended for racist comments.
The suspension came last Thursday after University officials discovered comments on an electronic listserv.
Apparently, numerous published items were deemed offensive, vulgar, racist and misogynistic.
To further support her comments Princeton President Christopher Eisgruber added his support in the suspension as the behaviours were not indicative of Princeton values as well as the dignity of the other students.
John Crammer, the spokesperson for Princeton University, was unable to divulge any specific details about the actual comments in order to protect the rights and privacy of the individuals targeted in the messages. He was referring to female members of the women’s swim & dive teams.
The only further action being mentioned is that the men’s teams will receive what most people call “sensitivity training” and a lesson on how to use social media.
