So earlier today, I stopped at the market downstairs to pick up a couple of things on my way back from running errands.
The next checkout aisle over there was this super handsome #squirrelTS and I was sure he lived in my building. However, that will get harder to tell with the warmer weather coming now, unless I recognize the person. [In winter it was easy to tell who the residents were, they were in flip-flops and shorts.]
He was pretty loaded down with two very heavy bags that were loaded to the top. Managed to snap a shot of him as I was verifying what time the dry cleaner was going to be opening tomorrow.
We got to the front door and every one else was struggling to find their keys. [I mean WTF? You know you are going to need them, start fishing them out.]
He was very thankful and friendly during the elevator ride up.
Jump ahead a few hours and I trot off to do a load of laundry before it got too late.
Half the machines are labeled as “Out of Order”, again WTF?
So I pull around the corner and there is #squirrelTS from earlier loading his laundry in the washer.
I grabbed a few one in the same bank of washers and after dumping in my soap and softener in he tells me he was planning to use that washer. [I was third from the right, he was all the way at the right, he was working his way down and sorting, I guess, as he went along.]
He was disappointed maybe annoyed…
I really felt horrible! HORRIBLE!
Here I was earlier that day, helping him out and now I screwed up his laundry.
I was going to leave him a note in an envelope with a gift card, but from where? McDonald’s in the mall?
Does he look like he eats there? Even if I said, “have some coffee on me..sorry I stole your machine…” still felt kind of dumb…
I am hoping I will see him again and maybe figure out some way on the spot to undo my check mark in the “jerk” column.
What would you have done? Suggestions? Ideas?
Let me know below guys, maybe I will find a way to put one of them in action.
