turnipHed reviews: Priape Classic Jock Strap

It can not be argued that the fascination with jockstraps extends beyond function and support, this point is just a given.

I just want to point out that I have an update or rather an extra post about this jockstap which you can read over at Schweaty Ballz.

Numerous designers have tried to add their twist to the classic jockstrap affording guys an opportunity to add some flair and perhaps fun to their under gear and “work out” routines, whatever they may be.

As the name suggests, this jockstrap revisits the “good old days” when jocks were purely made for function yet there are some subtle yet noticeable differences in the construction that make this jockstrap a must have for anyone.

As my colleague Johnny Underscore ^» 01 has pointed out in his review this jockstrap is constructed with a blend of 70% polyester, 15% cotton and 15% rubber.

Right away I did notice how soft the fabric felt. I will throw this out there right now and say that this is definitely not a hindrance to the support this jockstrap offers, in fact, as this jockstrap is cut a little bit smaller than normal, at first, I found the “basket” too tight for my liking while the waistband and the legbands fit perfectly.

My previous experience with “classic” jocks was that the fabric, especially the basket, were rough and scratchy and quite uncomfortable on my “business” and were a bit of a distraction to my comfort level and I continually had the urge, or should I say, need to readjust to try and find that “right spot”.

The 3” waistband is super comfortable! I mean like wicked comfortable, and because this jockstrap is cut a bit lower the waistband sits really nicely on your hips which translates to not flashing your jockstrap if you don’t want to.  But by all means if you want to, throw on some low rise pants and have some fun! Also if you do not have a wicked flat stomach like this model it means that your waistband will not roll over when you move.

The 1” leg straps are really well done and comfortable as well. After wearing mine all day at work and then out that night after work, never once did I feel the need to adjust the straps, they stayed exactly where I put them that morning.

I have found that other jockstraps do not hold up to this and a legstrap would keep getting twisted or be constantly moving which can be more uncomfortable than a “wedgie”.

Now, I am in no way bragging here about anything, I do think I fall into the “average” category; however, I did have a little bit of trouble getting the basket to fit my junk just right when I first put this jockstrap on.  ^» 02

However, having said that after washing it a couple of times and once my “junk” was in the right spot, I was comfortable all day and did not have to move, adjust, re-tuck or anything like that. It was almost like once I figured out how to make it work for me I just went with it.

One thing I do really like about this jockstrap is the versatility between both the physical function of this piece as well as the fetish aspect.  You can wear this jockstrap to the gym and just be one of the guys in a jockstrap and if that is all you want then guess what, you are wearing a solidly built comfortable jockstrap.

If you like a little more excitement than you can have that too with this jockstrap, the lower cut adds a sense of sexiness to it, the colours can also add some hot factor and yet still just be a normal everyday jockstrap.

It is all in how you look at it, how you want to look at it and how you feel in it!

At the end of the day I give this Priape Classic Jockstrap a total score of 8.5 based on the following criteria:

FIT – 7 (out of 10)
STYLE – 9 (out of 10)
QUALITY – 9 (out of 10)
VALUE – 9 (out of 10)
