So as you probably have already read about my laptop blowing up on me you know that I was in a pretty bad spot and really freaking out about it.

I am going on record here and saying with all the crap that has happened to me so far this year I am still one of the luckiest guys because I have a sister that loves me a lot and is so supportive of me.

My sister bailed me out and after we doped up on Gravol and Imodium she took me out, after doing some research online, and fronted me the money, on her credit card, to get myself a new laptop.

The reality of the situation is that a laptop is not just a convenience for me, a laptop is not just a toy that I use to email, chat and surf. A laptop allows me the opportunity to keep in touch with my clients while I am on the road.

I am also at a point where I am about to aggressively reorganise my business and then aggressively seek out new clients and revenue opportunities so I can get myself out of the rut I am in.

I have some great ideas that I want to put into action, just need to get the foundation set up again so that I can make these ideas work.  I am actually pretty excited about it.

With a reliable laptop I can now work while I am sitting in my hotel rooms on layover, plus at home since my desktop is on the last leg I can just use the laptop and not have to worry about it crashing and loosing my work.

I have to say I am really happy with the new laptop, of course I wanted to get a Mac but that is just not financially feasible right now.  I forgot what it is like to have a program open in under 30 seconds or a window close and not take 4 minutes.

I have a fingerprint reader on here and I love it for logging in, it is SO cool. Was kind of hard to set up but now that my fingerprint is stored it works really good.

I am still moving stuff on to the new laptop¹ and installing new software.

It does have an integrated cam and mic so I might be posting some more turnipTV soon.

I have to keep my eyes open though for a external HD case for a laptop HD so I can pull stuff off my old laptop that I need.  I guess one good thing that happened in all of this is that I will now have an extra HD for backups and storage - well that is assuming the HD in the old laptop is still good.  From what I can tell it was the video card and the MoBo that blew on the old laptop.

Anyway today is the last full day for us in Toronto. Tomorrow we are heading back to Calgary together and I have to work on Wednesday.
