Tagged on a Meme

About a week ago I was tagged by a fellow blogger to take part in a meme and honestly I have not really had the time to sit down and think about it - however I did tag his email as «unread» so as to remind me to get my ass in gear and get it done.

So while I am not doing my laundry right now I am going to do my best to tackle this challenge and I must admit that when I did give this meme a scan over the first time I did think to myself, «damn this is a tough one» so will do my best....

  1. What was I doing 10 years ago...I was working retail, I was part of the management team at «The Body Shop» with my responsibilities being; our recycling program, product knowledge and customer service program1
  2. What are 5 things on my «to-do» list today...My «to-do» list is huge and really it is not segmented into what I need to do today...and I have a really bad habit of procrastinating.
  3. 5 snacks I enjoy...I am not at all much of a snacker; I rarely, if ever, nibble on anything
and do not really eat junk or snack food - I do sometimes eat fast food for dinner though.
  4. 5 things I would do if I were a billionaire...I really have a hard time answering this question.

    1) I know the first thing I would do is go and get an iPhone and I would then probably pay my rent up front for a year just to get it out of the way.

    2) I really don't know what would change - I would take care of my sister for sure, I would give her the money to buy a condo that she liked and a new car.

    3) I would pay back my family for the money they have given me over the years.

I know for sure that when it comes to my grandparents I would not be giving them back the money that they have given me as they would not take it back - but I would instead buy the equivalent in mosquito nets to help prevent malaria in Africa2 - plus I would give a donation to the organisation they worked with, in their name of course.

When it comes to my mom - don't really think she needs the money back either she is pretty comfortable.

So then this makes me think when it comes to my family members I would set up an investment where the interest was enough for them to have money if they needed it or wanted to do something.

When it comes to money for me - I really have a hard time spending a large sum at once, but I will nickel and dime myself to the poor house - so really this whole prospect scares me sick.

My mother's ex-husband's niece and her husband won the lottery3 and were bankrupt within a year - and this scares me - I don't like to fail no matter what the set up is.

    4) I know I have some friends that are having a rough time and I would set them up as well so that I could invest for them and that the interest would give them that cushion so they would not have to worry about making ends meet and so that if they wanted to travel, for example, they could.

    5) I would for sure buy myself a new laptop,4 a new desktop,4 and a bigger TV.

    6) Bonus Answer - I can not see myself quitting my job(s) - because I really love what I do - I just may do them differently.

  5. 5 of my bad habits...

    1) Lazy
    2) Procrastinate
    3) The rest of the things I can think of are not habits but character traits....being a perfectionist and stubborn are a couple of them

  6. 5 places I have lived...

    1) Toronto
    2) Calgary
    3) Montréal
    4) Medicine Hat
    5) Edmonton

  7. 5 jobs I have had...

    1) Flight Attendant
    2) Travel Consultant
    3) Retail Management
    4) Retail Salesperson
    5) Pain in the Ass

  8. 5 people I would like to know more about... (this is a tough one for me)

    1) MT - You Sir have me so intrigued et j'ai faim à savoir plus!

    2) Hilary Clinton - I really want to know what goes on in her mind

    3) Osama bin Laden - What happens to a person that causes them to brew that much hatred and contempt for human life - I guess this is more a desire to try and understand «how» someone could really be that unhappy and still find comfort and resolve in that unhappiness and anger.

    4) Rosalind Russell - I know this is not possible but that woman had so much charisma and it seems like it would be infectious and I would love to have had the opportunity to soak up that.

    5) Myself - I seem to surprise myself, while maybe not on a daily basis but yet it still seems to be happening and I find it ironic, if not funny, that I am the next person to know something about myself even though I knew it already but was not conscious of it - almost like I am the first to receive the memo before anyone else.

    6) This comes post publishing, I held off on this thought and when I processed it I decided I wanted to add it - I would like to know more about my father.  I never got the chance to meet him or rather get to know him.  He was killed in an accident at work when I was just over 1 year old. I have heard stories about him from different members of my family but they all seem to have a unique perspective to them. I would like to know my father's perspective - I would like to know more about him - from him.

OK so there we have it - and a huge thanks to Bearpup for this challenge....and of course to Eiain for starting this!
