It has been too noisy here today1 to really get any work done plus on top of that it is hard to concentrate today because I did get a quick chance to talk to «him» last night on the phone, not much was said but it was really good to hear is voice and I do hope we get to talk again soon and see what we can do.
Now funny how now that I am caught up on my blog roll you bitches are not posting with the same fury and I have been forced to find other stuff to read and keep my occupied.
A story published by XTRA! a while ago2 but just came through on the RSS feed, really caught my eye today.
The headline, «Handy Gets Eight Months» - really caught my eye...
Ryan Handy, the man convicted of aggravated sexual assault for failing to disclose his HIV-positive status before having unprotected sex with a man who picked him up online, was sentenced on Mar 27 to serve eight months in jail.
«I feel like Buffy the Vampire Slayer walking towards some sort of apocalypse,» Handy wrote in a Mar 26 email to Xtra. «I hope the judge is merciful tomorrow. I hope for house arrest. I was found to be guilty but also suffering from a major mental illness and that has to mean something.»
«You selfishly and recklessly had unprotected sex with [the man] and exposed him to a deadly virus,» said Justice William Jenkins according to a report in the London Free Press.

Dude3 what kind of stupid dumb-ass are ya? If you are going to have sex with someone - protected or unprotected4 what are you doing NOT asking about STD status?
When you give it up - you have to take responsibility for your actions.
Both guys hold the same level of responsibility here - but really crying wolf, I am not sure if that is just as bad as pumping your ass with the knowledge of being HIV+ or worse!

Speaking as someone who is HIV+, I always take the full responsibility to ensure that sex is safe(r).
And maybe that is why I haven't got laid in months...
;p)

@Don - I am really glad you added that (r) there at the end of safe.
Myself, I think that the only true safe sex is tugging one out in the shower in the morning or in bed before you fall asleep - you never ever really know.
But yet, at some times that risk is taken between a couple and I can respect that decision.
However, no matter what, if he is a random hook up or your long term boyfriend, the risk is always there and we need to make informed decisions.
Was the top in this case wrong to not disclose his status? Yes.
Was the bottom wrong to not ask the status of the top? MORE SO YES!
Even if the top could truthfully say - I don't know and then ask - want to still go raw and the bottom said yes - ok then BOTTOM TAKES THE RESPONSIBILITY.
Maybe I am the weird one but when I look at sex it is the bottom that has all the control - they can shut it down at any moment - and if that is not respected then it becomes rape.
If you are gonna stick your ass up in the air and take some meat and not ask some questions - then you better enjoy that bruise on your head from banging into the wall or the head board - and it better be good!
