I realise it has been far too long since I last posted anything of substance either here or on Twitter.

So before I hit the hay tonight I wanted to throw something out there to let y'all know I am still alive and kicking.

I am officially back at work as of 30 January 2008; however I have not yet operated a flight since 21 December.  

As you might know I fell ill on a dead head flight back from Fort Lauderdale and have been pretty sick since then up until about the 30th.

What started out as a fever, turned into the flu, which became a cold, then a cough with a touch of laryngitis which then turned into a double ear infection added to a sinus infection and then to top it off bronchitis.

I certainly do live by «go hard or go home» it seems in just about everything I do.

Needless to say being stuck at home, feeling like crap, not able to breath or go out, work or do anything got me down pretty bad.

Nothing was going on for me so I had nothing to share with any of you. 

Watching Twitter only made me miss life all the more so I had to ignore it for a while.

Now that I am feeling better and getting back to work its been a bit stressful because as of 23:59 on 31 January 2008 I automatically de-qualified as a Flight Attendant.

If I had not been sick I would have been able to only re-certify prior to this deadline. ¹

That not being the case it looked like I would not only have to re-certify but re-qualify² before I was able to re-certify. ³

So the week prior to this week I have been burying my nose in my Operations Manual studying and doing the online courses that are required.

Another reason why I have been quiet as of late.

Today⁴ is the biggest day.

Today is where I have to do my evacuation drills and my written exam.  Once I breeze through this it is all down hill from there.

I have a day off then 2 more days of classroom stuff⁵ and I get to stand outside in the blistering cold and put out a burning cargo container. ⁶

Then I get to go home enjoy a few days at home and not be sick and then I get to go back out flying again. ⁷

Another thing that has been keeping me busy is a web design project I was working on for a client. I just finished that up on Sunday before the Super Bowl.

Thankfully, I have another one coming up here.  I likes to make money!

All the time I was spending on the computer doing that during the day, when evening came I just wanted to vegetate on the couch.

I just connected to my computer at home and opened RSS Bandit⁸ and I have 377 blog entries to catch up on and that does not include some of the new blogs I have heard about from podcasts that I want to catch up on.

The turnip is gonna be busy!
