God of War :: It Gets You Laid
Well I am not so sure about getting laid1 but this game really rocks.
I am really glad that Moby, Gooster and This Boy Elroy all offered recommendations to play2 God of War.
We are now just heading to bed after 5 hours of wicked enjoyment. Both of us exhausted. I did not get a lot of sleep last night because I was up late upgrading this blog and one other blog I run. My sister worked the night shift last night and this morning we had to take her car in to get a tire repaired and stayed awake to hear the phone ring when it was done.3
On an unrelated note, I am faced with a situation that I am not 100% sure of;
- a) how I am going to deal with
- b) how work is going to deal with
- c) how things are just going to pan out
Here is the situation; I am still not well enough to fly. I sound horrible, my voice keeps coming in and out. I am coughing, I have a congested head/sinuses and every once in a while my ears plug and won't clear.4
Now here is a quick run down. Today was a day off. Which was a day off in between 2 sets of trips, both of which are a 4 day duration.
Now according to my understanding I booked off for those 4 days as «not fit to fly.»
My day off is well my day off - regardless of my «fitness to fly.»
Tomorrow5 I am to start another 4 day trip.
If I call in «not fit to fly» I am thinking that I start off again at square one for days missed due to work because my day off brings me back to zero.
However I got information today from one person in management that is not the case. That even though my day off is a «day off» if I am still «not fit to fly» on my next pairing and it continues on to include 01 January, I then have to go on Short Term Disability.6
So that does not make sense to me.
Where is the cut off?
How many days off in between trips/pairings does it take before you would start back at square one?
Also what happens if I go to work and either a) am off loaded from the pairing because my crew deems me «not fit to fly» and a hazzard or b) or I actually 100% loose my voice and then can't do my job at all and then have to be off loaded? 7
Do I start back at square one again because I tried to work?
At the end of it all I really REALLY do not want to go on Short Term Disability - takes too long to get the cash! Plus I am missing out on my «per diems» by not working and that is cash I need as well!
Anyone looking for a high-class date?
post posting update:
I just logged on to WordPress to see that there was an update released today - so after spending all that time (8 hours last night) doing upgrades and changes so that both blogs were running WP 2.3.1 I find out that the current version is now 2.3.2 - FUCK!
Cheers, tH/out
turnipHed Foot Notes...
- I am taking this from quoting one of the developers of the game after watching the «behind the scenes» footage on the making of the game↩
- which meant a mad dash to Future Shop down the street, I put on jeans but my sister drove in her PJs, to grab the game↩
- Knowing that if we both fell asleep we would sleep through the phone ringing and it would not be fair for one to sleep while the other stayed awake↩
- all of which are extremely detrimental to my job performance never mind my career↩
- which is really today but I have not slept yet↩
- STD for short - and I have to say that acronym doesn't sit well with me↩
- damn wish we were flying to Hawaii or something - wink↩

My understanding is if you miss more than 5 continuous work days along with one weekend for a total of 7 days off (for a regular work schedule) you go on to SDI.

oh and glad you are loving GOW. Wait till you hit part 2. It is even more visually stunning and just as engaging.

Well that would kind of make sense - however with my scheduling it seems all a bit whacked out! I could be 4 on then 21 off then 4 on 1 off 4 on 1 off 4 on......
