Disappointed In Dinner
Hunger kicked in pretty fast last night but I got so hungry so fast I could barely think straight so the Boyfriend took over trying to find a place for us to eat.
He was in the mood for Asian food but most of the locations that are super close to where I live are all take away and not sit down restaurants and we wanted to sit down and enjoy a meal out.
Then it hit me, there was a Ginger in Cabbagetown, which is not too far away, that we could walk to. I had never been to this location but eaten many times at the location in the Village.
I have always enjoyed my meals at the Ginger in the Village, sure can not say that about last night's dinner.
My usual, Rare Beef Noodle soup [pictured above], was boring, bland and just plain old blech.
No matter how I tried to spice or flavour it up, it did not help. The "base" was just bland. So when I added stuff to try and make the soup more enjoyable my dinner just ended up tasting like that "stuff" and water.
Was too hungry to not eat as much of it as I could so I just slurped it on down.
Here is where » 01 it really went down hill, right into the pits of hell.
I had to go to the bathroom, that was a HUGE mistake. I think the last time I saw a bathroom that filthy and been assualted by that incredible stench and infestation of insects » 02 was over 20 years ago when I was in Cameroon Africa.
I almost barfed walking in there! To make it even worse the men's bathroom was right next to the back door into the kitchen.
Obviously, the Health Inspector approved the restaurant, all restaurants in Toronto have to clearly post the results of their inspection. » 03
I am not sharing this other than to just share my experience, others that read this can make their own decisions on whether they might wish to frequent this establishment.
Happy eating!
Here Are the Foot Notes...
- In my humble opinion ↩
- I am NOT using this term loosely ↩
- However after looking at that photo I am not so sure they are inspecting enough - perhaps due to the Toronto City Strike we have been subjected to. ↩

I agree this place is not that clean.. and the one at Yonge and Bloor is even worse.. I went there the Sunday before Pride and took one bite of the food and pushed it away and chucked in the garbage.
2 locations I will not go back to. they are not very clean.... The Church st location seems clean (have not had to go to the bathroom, might change my mind if I need to go....)
