I bought a bottle of wine the other day just because as I was passing it caught my eye, it being the label and the name so I grabbed it. I said to myself, "Self, grab that, try it, you might like it." So I did.

Well I ended up not having "that" bottle. I gave it to *C* as a tiny thank you for bailing me out last night.

So tonight after *T* and I hit the pub, I went to the Pharmacy to pick up some Guinness for when I got home. Saw the bottle again. Grabbed it and brought it home.

While I was getting all my stuff set up for my pairing tomorrow, I opened it, let it breathe a bit, then when I sat down to catch up on my blog roll, email and such I poured myself a glass. I was impressed. Dirt cheap and it was yummy with a surprising twist.

I was planning on blogging and bragging about it but then when I finished off the last sip, I found a surprise in my glass. CHUNKS!¹

Now yes I am picky about what I drink, not to the level of being a snob, and yes I do realise I only paid $9 for this bottle, but give me a fucking break! Foreign bodies in my nectar!!?? I think NOT.

In trying to search for a website for the winery, I did not come up with one in the Google Top 10 so I gave up because I am supposed to be in bed long ago, I did come across these two interesting links;

Dave at Dave’s Spot writes: I’ve been drinking a lot of shiraz lately…I have no idea why. Perhaps BC just seems to have better selection in the lower-cost shiraz’s? Regardless, I was looking for affordable wine on my current trip of frugalness, and had read a little about this before and thought I’d give it a try.

OK enough procrastinating I am off to bed. If I still had time I would pour myself a Guinness to forget it all and enjoy a little piece of heaven!
