A Muddy Puddle – Not Just a Good Time
The shortBus and I are about to try a new “seasonal” cocktail this afternoon that I found in this month’s issue of Men’s Health.
After brunch this morning we went out to get the ingredients…here is how the cocktail is mixed…
It is aptly titled the MUDDY PUDDLE » 01
- 1 oz simple syrup (plus more for the rim if you want to rim your glass with finely crushed peanuts)
- 3 oz iced espresso
- 1.5 oz bourbon
- 4 oz of stout » 02
Not sure what it will be like but we are both excited…however I wanted to start this post to force me to finish it after we try it…
Ok so first impression -
Whoa Nelly that is strong…
Damn, 2 of those and I will be on the floor…
Well OK so in our eagerness we fucked up the cocktail…
You are supposed to blend/shake it then serve it in 4 glasses – so right now each one of us is drinking a couple servings each…and no that is not a bad thing!
Its kind of choclatey with a bite and then the smooth aftertaste from the bourbon. Definitely the perfect fall CockTail.
Here is the rest of the recipe that you might want to follow…
- Rim a glass with the simple syrup and then peanut dust
- Shake together the iced espresso, bourbon and simple syrup
- Strain into a pretty glass
- Add ice
- Top with the stout
We really didn’t feel that fancy so we both took large glasses, heavy glasses and poured all of that above, without the fancy rim job, stirred and partaked!
FUKIN YUM!
I think we will both be walking funny — brown chicken brown cow.
