2012’s Most Followed LGBTs on Twitter

Most Followed LGBTs on Twitter

2012 was certainly the year of the LGBT. There were memorable comings-out, such as those of CNN host Anderson Cooper, actor Matt Bomer, and the plethora of Olympians, like U.S. soccer player Megan Rapinoe. We also declared victory for marriage equality in three states during the November election, which also saw Wisconsin’s Tammy Baldwin elected as the first openly gay member of the U.S. Senate. We’ve come a long way since the time we feared arrest for simply having a cocktail together. The country loves us! But let’s face it, if it weren’t for visibility in the media, we would surely not have advanced as quickly or as much as we have. That’s why we find it so important to research and deliver the year’s most “wanted” LGBTs. For the first time, this week we’re delivering a daily list of the most followed, most viewed, most liked, and most searched people within our community on the world’s most popular sites.
